The Magazine Rack is a nice addition to any room in your home. For use in the living area or even in the bathroom, this rack stands at about 14 inches tall and can be anywhere from 6-8 inches wide. Even though I have done mostly flower patterns, as you can see from the wedding magazine rack, anything is possible.
From top left to bottom right:
- Sunflower Magazine Rack - The very first one. Instead of making something Yankees, I decided to design something with Jen in mind. I mean I couldn't have everything in our house promoting the Yankees. So taking her favourite flower, I stenciled it on and cut out the two pieces that resemble the 10 Commandment tablets. Using 3/4 inch dowel and 5/8 dowel to hold the two sides together and to sew the fabric around completed the design. A very popular item once I decided to sell my projects.
- Wedding Magazine Rack - This past summer, Jen's sister, Carrie, got married. So rather than giving the typical wedding gift we decided to make them. This was one half of the gift (A family welcome was the other). On one side of the rack was the date on which they were married, on the other side I cut wedding bells and their initials. A unique gift commerating the once in a lifetime day.
- Daisy Magazine Rack - After making so many sunflower racks for people I started to feel like I needed another option. Jen allowed me to make another one for her with the daisy instead to see if anyone would like that one. I have made other daisy magazine racks now so it worked out with the exception that Jen's has a butterfly next to the daisy on one side and hers will be the only one with the butterfly
- Mom/Dad Rack - Carla Hayley-Baxter let me design this magazine rack for her parents for Christmas. A simple yet cute design.
- Hearts Magazine Rack - Karen Broussard wanted a magazine rack for her bathroom. She aleady had some things in her bathroom with hearts on it so she wanted something to fit the theme. Once stained it was a great addition to the heart-felt room.
